Top 10 things to do this Summer around Loch Lomond
I have compiled a wee list of 10 fab things to do around Loch Lomond this Summer. All of these activities can be done with children in tow. If you have ever visited Scotland in the summer you will know it isn't always dry!!!! So I have given you a DRY or WET guide too. When my girls were young I just put them in all-in-one waterproofs and went out to explore regardless of the weather. The great thing about Scotland is even on a wet day it looks beautiful and you can't say that about many places. 1. Inchcailloch Island {DRY}...
Time Management
Aaaaahhhhhh!!!! This is a total nightmare subject for me at the moment as the kids have started their summer holidays and I still have work to do but they need entertaining. Yikes, time management is difficult when you have children and you work from home. You have to be very disciplined and I have to say I don't seem to be getting it right just now. It's a juggling act. A few things that help me with time management are phone apps. The one I use is called ATracker - Daily Task and Time tracking. I also use a time...
The Hill House
Last week I visited the beautiful Hill House in Helensburgh. My lovely friend Julie who works there gave me a guided tour and I can't believe that I haven't visited before now. It is "universally regarded as Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s finest domestic creation." Everything within the house including decorative schemes, furniture and fireplaces were designed by Mackintosh too. His wife, Margaret Macdonald also designed many of the textiles within the house and a beautiful fireplace panel in the sitting room. Most of the house looks as it would have in 1904. In the upstairs hallway there is a lovely little...

It was Father's Day yesterday but my own Dad is no longer here. I totally believe he is always with me but he died at the age of 52 to Motor Neurone Disease on the 3rd of June 2003. I was 27 when he died and it changed my world completely. What is Motor Neurone Disease (MND)? Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. International MND Awareness Day takes place on 21st June. It gives...
Calligraphy & Hand Lettering
I thought I would write a little bit about calligraphy and hand lettering today as 'modern calligraphy' seems to be everywhere at the moment (maybe I just think so as I love it so much). Never before has hand lettering looked so good. There are some great examples and I will run through a few below. I got the Calligraphy bug from seeing Molly Jacques work and she inspired me try calligraphy. Molly also has e-courses you can do in hand lettering if you want to try it. Closer to home in Glasgow is another Calligrapher I admire Laura E Patrick. Laura...
