Today is National Pizza Day and we LOVE pizza in our house so I thought I would make some. We used pitta bread for the bases as I am way too lazy to make the Pizza Bases. The rest of the ingredients are listed below:
- Tomato Sauce - 2tsp Olive oil, 2 garlic gloves, 400g chopped tomatoes, salt & pepper, oregano, basil leaves
- Wholemeal Pitta bread
- Pineapple chunks
- Mozzarella sliced into small chunks
- Grated cheddar cheese
First make the tomato sauce. Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan and add the crushed garlic and oregano. Fry for a few minutes then add the chopped tomatoes and salt and pepper. Simmer for a few minutes and then add some torn basil leaves.
Put some pitta bread on a baking tray and then spoon the tomato sauce over the pitta bread. Then add as many toppings as you like. You can see below that my children added everything (well maybe not the mushrooms. What kid likes mushrooms).
I should say these Pitta Pizzas were delicious and we will be making them again so have a go x
