Hello again. I thought I would let you know what a typical working day was like for me at Lomond Paper Co HQ. To be honest its not glamarous most of the time it doesn't revolve around my business it revolves around my children. Here is a break down of my day...
I am woken by my radio alarm clock but I don't tend to surface until my youngest daughter strolls into the room for a cuddle. I then get up and make packed lunches for them both. Then back upstairs for a shower.
Breakfast time and then we wander to school at 8.30am with friends. It's a lovely walk to the school and back and it always wakes me up ready for the day.
Back home and I tend to make myself cuppa and head into my workspace. I then check emails and look at google analytics (which I really shouldn't do as Its hard to understand and a time wasting exercise). On the way back from school sometimes I pop into the local printers to look at papers and discuss new designs.
I get into designing something. Recently it has been some wee notepads.
I stop for lunch and sit out in the garden for a while if it's nice out. If's its not nice out I tend to watch something on BBCi-player or read a book.
Back to work and designing and drawing whatever is the next thing on the list to do. I always set an alarm to go off though as I tend to get a wee bit engrossed. My alarm goes off at 2.40pm so that I can walk to school to get the girls.
I meet the girls from school and wander home chatting about there day.
The children have a snack and do some homework and then tend to play out with there friends or they have a club on.
My husband is home and we normally all have tea together and chat. The kids normally take double the time we do to eat though so it can seem like it goes on forever.
It's normally bath bed and reading time for the girls.
I get to do another hours work and then I am ready to relax.
Chill and watch something on TV. Recently my husband and I have been watching the series The Affair. We normally watch a box set of something.
As you can see I don't have a totally normal working day as it does revolve around my children but they are my priority at the moment. When they are in high school this will change and I will be able to focus a lot more on my business but that was always my intention to start things slowly.
I would love to hear about your working day and if it is anything like mine. I am very lucky to have a very supportive husband this always helps.
